Woke up and putzed around the house. The landlord is showing it to some possible tenants today, and I wanted to pick up some stuff. Not to help him out (I hold grudges, 'K?), but because I'm getting annoyed at the slip into squalor. Ok, Tom did most of the cleaning, including vacuuming, the bathroom, and dishes.

And laundry, because three loads of clothes on the lines confuses poor landlord. In fact, there might be a post soon about why he recycles and hangs stuff on the lines. Actually, I appreciate it for the same reasons.

Read a random post about a group in San Fran that is trying to shop as if they were poor. Mostly stuff I agree with. I prefer to buy used clothes. There is more variety, and I can get more because it is so much cheaper. And the thrill of the hunt when you find those awesome pants. And the thrill of accomplishment when you hem them and take the butt in so they actually fit just right. Similiar with the line versus the dryer. I own a dryer, but I would rather hang clothes out and not pay to run the dryer. And save my money for travel or emergencies. And have one source of income that I don't touch, so I'm not looking for loans when the paperwork for processing the fact I'm enrolled this semester is late (GI money). Because the Vet Affairs woman was concerned when I went in to figure out why I couldn't verify my January enrollment, and I said that it was OK, because I live off my TA wage. She seemed to think this was hard. Maybe, if I had childern to care for, or a car loan, but I don't. There was no point to this paragraph.

Ah.. stress. So in my inbox this morning was a scary email from Anschutz because I had two books more than 30 days overdue. I went to campus early to turn them in and see what I could do for appeal of the $90 lost replacement fee and the $20 lost processing fee for each book. First told that since I returned them I didn't have to pay the $90 fee, but still the $20 processing fee (x2 for 2 books = $40). And then the gentleman librarian in charge piped up that since it was less than 60 days overdue, I wouldn't have to pay that either. Yeah! Libraries still great. Also, saw ads for partime work at the library. If I don't end up doing field work, my plan is to take a couple of hours over the summer to get my GI money, and work part time at the library. So I have some experience when applying to MLIS schools. And I limit my free time to travel, thus decreasing the chances of blowing my money. So I can afford said MLIS program.

Oh, and I was so pissy that I made myself bike all the way, despite the harsh wind. I am out of shape, my chest is still sore.
