Living with the New Normal

I guess we've reached the disordered sleeping stage of not coping. I'd just take tomorrow off, but I have an overdue project that I'd like to finish. Next week is going to be busy, and the big important task I'm to help out with has been pushed back to early October, in the middle of the two weeks of leave I had planned. But I haven't made any reservations, so I'm pushing my leave a week earlier. Not sure what I'm doing with those weeks, but limiting the time thinking about work is getting necessary. Now if I could just turn off my brain enough to sleep...

Thanks. I ended up taking a couple hours off this morning once I got my overdue task done. There is again uncertainty with scheduling of big important task. I'm glad that my boss keeps reassuring me that I don't have to schedule my leave around that task, but I really want to do big task. It is the sort of outside the usual scope of things that will bring recognition from the higher management. I'm not sure why, but I want to do something like that.

I hope you're able (allowed), if it's something you want to do. It seems helpful that your boss isn't pressuring you....
