Viking dress is done (for now). So I'm useless without a project to consider. So a lot of time surfing the internet, mostly about how Viking was Manx clothing in the 10th century. Still not sure. Now I want to make a röggr (cloak with tufts of wool woven in). Maybe for next year's Queen's Prize.

I was taught that the Vikings tended to integrate by the simple expedient of marrying local women - so the women may well have remained slightly more Celtic in their clothing than the men.

However their jewellery seemed to be quite Viking in style, and I took some photos a while ago of a re-enactment of an altercation between two factions of tenth century Manx establishing who was the rightful Lord of Man - if you click here you'll see, near the bottom, two of the women very clearly, if this helps.
