I could explain why all the ex Navy vets I know were Nukes, because I hang around smart people. I could explain why my buddy joined up to be a Nuke, because he is smart and hung around ex Nukes. But when my cousin is determined to go Nuke? I give up.

Nukes get the big bonus. Thus, it's attractive.

And recruiters get incentives to recruit them. And there's the aura of exclusivity.

It's not like I was immune to the lure.
