Starting to Look Like Someone Lives Here
May. 31st, 2009 12:21 pmHauled over a load last night and another this morning. Planned system to move one room at a time got nixed after wet floor debacle, now just hauling over a truck load of stuff twice a day (during the coolest times, summer has started) and unpacking during the heat. Most of the dressers are over and about half the clothes.
My library is going to be awesome. All the books other than the paperbacks are over. Wall to the left (south) of the doorway is hardcovers. Manga and hardcovers are the west wall, with space for a futon in between them below the window (reading spot or guests). North and east walls will be paperbacks. There's even room for a fifth shelf of paperbacks, and a spot for a small shelf or table under the north window.
I've started a list of furniture to look for this summer (note to locals who are moving/cleaning or spot something awesome). Wardrobe (costumes, fabric), couches (preferable two), sauder bookshelf (preferably white, sauder because I know how to maximize it for space), coffee table (blond wood, not ugly), futon (Lawnchair wants one for his office) and probably other stuff. Fairly ridiculous list, and NFM showed me why I'd rather get it used.
Cats are mostly used to new place now. I think having more of their stuff around helps. They don't like getting locked in the lower half, but it really helps with moving in large stuff (furniture is moved straight to the rooms, but most boxes are being moved to the garage for sorting during the hot part of the day).
