Why Am I Obsessed?

Haven't been able to figure out what to where to the Costume Tea. I don't have anything steam punky, or Victorian. I wore garb last year, and have better garb now, but I don't want to. I've been playing around with wearing one of my kimonos, but am not convinced I can tie one neatly.

But I'd finished my mockup hakama, and it turned out OK. So I dug through the fabric stash for something to go with one of my kimonos. I picked the grey/green kimono and blue linen (was already washed and the right length so no wasted linen). Hakama are about half sewn, just need to sew in the pleats and attach to the himo.

I think hakama and kimono is a great idea! If I could go this year, I'd probably do the same thing, since I don't have anything (else) Victorian or steampunk done.
