Joining Up

We all know I have a confused opinion about serving in the military. I had another recall dream last night. The oddest part was being partially dressed in coveralls right before check in and realizing I was in my "faddish" glasses and had purple hair. I ended up putting my hair in a bun and rubbing shoe polish on it.

On one hand, the military isn't for every one (like me), and I don't believe in war. On the other, I believe a military is necessary, and is good for some people. And I respect those who serve. But a woman who joins the army to be an ordiance disposal tech (some of the bravest people out there) after her daughter is paralyzed in Iraq? Fucking awesome. Rock on, bomb-mama!

Yeah. It features in my dreams quite a bit. And stories, some of them are quite surreal still, and fun to tell unsuspecting.

Well, cell coverage has gotten a bit better in SoDak, but good luck. And back plenty of water, perhaps a cooler. Ice and/or cold drinks does wonders in strategic parts. I speak from experience of years of car trips in highly unreliable vehicles (parents are of the couple of hundred dollar cars every few years school). Unfortunately we're back in the 90s here, and it isn't cooling off at night (low of 84 last night). I hope the new place stays cool.
