Joining Up

affrecaWe all know I have a confused opinion about serving in the military. I had another recall dream last night. The oddest part was being partially dressed in coveralls right before check in and realizing I was in my "faddish" glasses and had purple hair. I ended up putting my hair in a bun and rubbing shoe polish on it.
On one hand, the military isn't for every one (like me), and I don't believe in war. On the other, I believe a military is necessary, and is good for some people. And I respect those who serve. But a woman who joins the army to be an ordiance disposal tech (some of the bravest people out there) after her daughter is paralyzed in Iraq? Fucking awesome. Rock on, bomb-mama!
