Textile Skills
Feb. 5th, 2006 09:56 amI noticed last week that my favorite knit skirt and the sweater I wear with it had small holes in them. And I love how soft they feel (both contain angora rabbit hair, which makes me want to do something with Mom's box of Pookers hair). So I took out my big needle and embroidery thread (which I have the full variety of colors from years of collection). The sweater has thick enough yarn I was able to find the two ends and tie them together, and then darn the back. Then darned the skirt. Now, time to work on the scarf. I'm on the second ball of yarn now. I love that my family taught me useful skills, like these.
Also, when I know more knitting skills, I want to knit an Irish hiking scarf.
Edit: I'm still working on my first scarf. I am not knitting a skirt.
