Being Productively Lazy

Decided to get outside while the weather was half nice (high 50s), and walked a short hike near Clinton Lake. It was nice. With few animals and plants around, I focused on listening to the birds. I got a couple of shots of a neatly decaying hedge apple.

Then found Drop Dead Gorgeous for cheap at Hastings. I've been watching silly movies and knitting. I'm up to about 2 inches long of a scarf. So I have a question to all my knitting readers ( andsometimes_ and missdoom, I'm looking at you), why do I keep getting one more stitch each row I add? I don't need a trapezoidal scarf.

Edit: I think I figured it out. Miscounted.

umm... your gonna need to pull it apart and start over and remember DO NOT knit the last stich just switch it over to the other needle.
