affrecaSo I've been bad about writing this week. Hmm.. I enjoyed an Easter visit with my parentals, then have had a long week at work. Due to end of the month deadlines, I worked an extra hour for the first three days of the week. Nice in the paycheck, but leaving the house before 8 seemed harsh. And the weather is nice enough that I finally started biking to and from work. I did have to call for a ride home on Wednesday due to rain. So I have put another 45 miles on my bike and picked up several compliments on it. Dave and Jeramie are talking about meeting up and bike pooling with me (for visiblity). My legs shall be buff. I can feel them toughening up. And I sleep good.
Also started my silverworking class on Tuesday. Quite fun. My first project shall be a pendant with a black stone. There was a box of possible "stones" we could use, and I think I managed to grab the only one which was not plastic thanks to my mad geology skills. I have some cut tiger somewhere in my craft box, or I will buy stones for future projects. I learned about the class due to Lori, my cube neighbor who is teaching it. I think I somewhat impressed her by actually understanding how to make jewelry. It feels so good to be learning and using my mind for fun.
Told Dr. Gosse that I'm going to KU. Haven't told KU yet, the deadline is the 15th to accept. I'm talking to Dr. Black on Monday about project possiblities, and where his research is going right now. And what he expects out of me. Then I'll tell him I'll be his student.
Well, off to bike to garage sales and breakfast with the Kings. Need to start house hunting soon. Looking for a three bedroom place to rent with a garage or unfinished basement (for bikes and projects). I'll be moving in with Tom and Jorge (Tom's current roomate). Jorge is a cool laid back guy, and I'd like to pay less rent. And his evil hamster is loose somewhere in his apartment. I still have all my toes.
