Blue Hammers
Mar. 11th, 2005 09:30 pmAnother week of work done. I'm tired, but I actually don't hate my job. I'm amused by the stories I hear. And most of you know how much I like to talk. And hear the sad crazy stories people have. Of course, if you think I'm going to be more sympathetic because you're a vet, think again. I'm developing new pet peeves. Calling me dear is one. But constant calls actually makes the day go by quickly. I'm pretty sure I'll be ready to quit by this summer, but I think I'll get my nose pierced. I have been waiting to make sure I wouldn't have to be job hunting again soon.
I finally got letter about funding. KU offered me a scholarship ($1,500) and TA position ($12,000), and with GI bill I'd be bringing in close to $20,000. What will Dal offer me? Will I get any money from UA or UI? I also got a denial letter from UW. Not to surprised, for various reasons, though still kinda hurts.
For some reason, my sister's emails seem to end up in my spam box. Today's one was a cute trick to see what you guessed after doing various math problems. Supposedly 98% of people pick red hammers. Except both
tri_juniper and I picked blue hammers. Now, I used to take it as truth that we are nothing alike. That doesn't seem to be true. Talking to her as adults, I find we value the same things and have similar politics. I blame our parents.
Oooh, oooh.. and apparently I've left him alone long enough this evening. <lj user="lawnchair" actually updated. We'll see if this happens again later this month when I start my silver working class at LAC, since there will be two nights in a row each week that we don't see each other. I'd appreciate suggestions of project ideas for this class. Not quite sure what I'll be learning, but it is more than I know now. I figure by default most designs will be knotwork, as that is the only art I know to draw.
