Hiking and Soaking

affrecaSo yesterday I did nothing. Not even my laundry, like I've been promising. Well, I went up to the top of a hill and drank a Coke and discussed traveling with a random Canadian. Normal.
Today I was going to wake up early and hike. Ha. Around 9 or so I made my way out of the hostel, and embarked on a brief hike. It lasted about 2.5 hours before I ran out of trail and onto a road. Pretty forest, so I turned around. Much more bird noise than the Black Hills.
I'm about to go off to Baden-Baden to soak in a spa. I hear there are some that allow 2 hours for €12, so I shall see. I don't deserve it since I barely hiked at all, but.. hot water!
Oh, and I will go to Switzerland tomorrow, I think. The random Canadian recommended Interlochen, so I will try there. I have booked a bed in Munich at the Easy Palace Hostel for June 1.

I just went to a hot springs myself here in Costa Rica...my first since Baden, and it was very nice, tropical plants surrounding stone pools, very pretty, and the fruity drinks didn't hurt...
I am curous about your future destinations...I am still pulling for Croatia.

Date: 2004-05-29 06:46 pm (UTC)This is your cousin, Kris. I got your journal address from mom. Looks like you are having a pretty interesting time, everyday must be quite an adventure.
One of my old high school classmates hiked across Europe after he finished college, said it was a great experience. He also went solo and really had no plans, made his decisions one day at a time.
It was a different world when he went, I imagine now you need to be careful about sharing the past few years of your life with the people you meet.
