Kitten Acquired

Didn't really get a chance to meet her beforehand, but already charmed. She's come out from behind the dryer, but not coming out of the laundry room yet. Sophie is really interested, but new cat hisses at her. Maui's doing his best to ignore the whole situation. New cat is a about 4 months old, so only just into the lanky stage. She's a mostly black tortoise shell, because that's a color pattern I apparently imprinted on as a child (Cat who I lived with from ages 4-17, who stalked me as a toddler was a tortie). Still figuring out name, as Stripe is not a real name in my opinion. Suggestions I have made are Nicosia and Amarna.

Yay kittie!

The last tortie I named, Snickers of beloved memory, got the name because her fur reminded me of the look of the candy bar innards; is there something her coat reminds you of?

I think we're going with Nicosia. I had thrown it out as a suggestion (based on archeology of a cat and human skeleton from 9,500 years ago found together on Cyprus), and it's the one that Lawnchair keeps returning to. It has the benefit of having multiple knicknames, including the pun Neko. That's the name he used to make her well kitten exam appointment.

Today's development is losing her fear of the other cats. She briefly played with Sophie through a curtain, and has leaped across Maui while chasing her crinkle ball.
