Done With This Week

affrecaNot that it's been bad, I'm just done. Poll working went well, just enough people through to not get to bored, not enough to have lines. My location was just for my precinct, maybe a half mile by half mile patch of town. We were told that 52% of the ~880 registered voters of our precinct had already voted, either by mail or in early voting. We had about 20% of the remaining ones come in, either to vote or drop off ballots. I also got to help out with someone voting in the parking lot (due to a recent surgery for a serious leg break). The weather was wonderful, and my coworkers were the expected. The supervising judge was the wife of one of my old vanpool coordinators. The only neighbor I recognized was the guy who's been doing a lot of work on his house about a block down.
Field oversight was fine. Weather was nice, but I really wish I'd gotten out for the first day of sampling, because I caught at least one issue. Which lead me to critique other things. Of course, I didn't eat lunch until mid afternoon, so was rewarded with a two pill migraine. Dinner consisted of a bag of chips and puppy food because I wasn't up to leaving the hotel again until late a night. At least they handled continental breakfast the best of any hotel I've stayed at in Covid times - had a hotel employee gather the breakfast bits you requested, and with a tray that you could easily take back to your room.
One more sampling event in two weeks, then done traveling for work for the year. I think.
Somewhere in there I had my midyear review, and got highly complimented. Guess I get to keep my job.
Only up to section 3 in my Plumpy shawl. I kept on messing up on Tuesday, so really didn't make any progress. This yarn has so much angora in it that it starts getting fuzzy whenever frogging occurs. And due to head pain, I didn't knit any on Wednesday in the hotel. I took this afternoon off, so I knit in the back yard, trying to take advantage of the clement weather.
