Fibruary Day 1
Feb. 1st, 2020 08:11 pmIt's my birthday month and someone was posting about making Fibruary, the fiber version of NaNoWriMo or Inktober a thing. I like that idea, though I don't have any good goals for myself. Maybe just remembering that crafting is an option. Kinda helped me be productive today.
First I finished the Burning Together yarn. I did the last of the plying last night, watching youtube videos about candy making. This morning I soaking and spun out the yarn. I probably should have taken it off the line before dark..
Since it was nice (not snowing), I took photos for my ravelry stash of my purchases from Woolfest. I also laid out my new Rambouillet fleece. Or at least tried to. I have to make samples from six portions of the fleece for my spinning class, so I did my best guessing how to lay it out flat and ID the legs vs. the belly. It's so pretty in color, and so fucking huge (6 lb). Hopefully I can get the class bits washed tomorrow (while it's in the 60s). I will wait until later to wash the rest and make lots of sweaters.
I also started the next spinning project - 4 oz of southdown (dyed in purples and browns by Apothefaery) for another pair of socks. I just finished knitting the socks from the last yarn I spun from some of her southdown, and they make me so happy. I've got one of three plies done while watching the last two episodes of the Good Place.
So a lot, but it was a quiet Saturday at home with little planned. Tomorrow is biking with friends so hopefully it doesn't eat up to much time.
