Raspberry Almond Chocolate Bars

Inspired by bars brought by my vanpool coordinator. He did not yet send me his wife's recipe, and I couldn't find one online that tasted like hers. And then I decided to use up some things that have been hiding in the cabinet for years. Hopefully the canned supplies are still good and I don't poison myself (and Lawnchair).

1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
1.5 cup flour

1 can almond filling*
1/2 cup raspberry jam**
1/2 cup + chocolate chips
1 cup frozen raspberries

Using hand mixer, soften butter. Add in sugar, then flour. Press mixture into bottom of oil 9 x 13 inch pan.
Bake at 350 for ten minutes.

Spread almond filling on top of base, then raspberry jam. Sprinkle chocolate chips and raspberries over top. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. If there are no posts after this, do not follow the recipe. I am dead of food poisoning.

*this is what's going to kill us. It doesn't taste any more poisonous than almonds normally do, but it is old

**using sugar free because that's what is hiding in the cabinet and the other choice is raspberry jalapeno which doesn't sound right

Tasty. The almond filling makes it really rich. I think would benefit from having almond slices on top for a bit more texture.
