Just Finished: The Geek Girl's Guide to (Murder/Arsenic/Justice) trilogy by Julie Anne Lindsey. Fluffy romantic mysteries with a self described geek girl. Something about the representation felt shallow to me. Partially because there was more talk about her awesome costumes than mention of where they came from? I think there was one mention of a sewing machine. The family's holistic natural beauty products were a major plot point throughout the books, but no mention of how they were made, just about selling them. Some aspects of the main characters need to organize those around her reminded me of Meg Langslow (which reminds me to check if I can get my paws on the latest of that series), just less interesting. I enjoyed them enough to read all three, but not going to search out other books by the same author.

Currently Reading: Sing for the Coming of the Longest Night by Katherine Fabian and Iona Datt Sharma. Novella about a pair searching for their mutual lover in fairy land. So far I like how the magic system works - a combination of found objects and associations.

Next Up: Maybe a pair of Meg Langslow mysteries if the wait for the library's copies are to long. Otherwise I'll brainstorm.
