Scratching a Fannish Urge
Feb. 23rd, 2015 08:24 pmI actually went to a movie. And really enjoyed it. And I'm reading tumblr. Well then..
Movie thoughts:
I've seen a good amount of criticism of the the bureaucracy sequence. I liked the change in pace, because otherwise the chase sequences would have been even more overwhelming. Also, it finishes with Terry Gilliam. Best cameo.
I've seen people complain about dropped characters. I'm OK with minor characters that don't get fleshed out because space is big. Like - they took Coruscant and surrounded it with satellite rings. There isn't time for them all to get their own stories in two hours, and I'd rather have a lots of minor characters to give the universe the feel of size (and the pilot is an elephant man named Nesh - as in Ganesh).
Also, I don't care who Cain killed. Again, if he killed Seraphi or attacked Belem it makes the universe to small.
