New Toys are Home
Dec. 19th, 2009 06:33 pmDrove over to OP to pick up the lot of stuff. Ending up not taking the stack of fabric sample books, they'll be just fine in the trash. We hauled everything but the loom in. It's big, and I want 1) have daylight, 2) make a path through the garage so we don't have to do stairs and 3) figure out exactly where I want it.
Spinning wheel is cute and needs a bit of tightening, but seems to work. I also got a box of roving (and two giant homemade drop spindles). It appears to be basic dark brown wool, but I figure it will be great for learning/practicing on. Barry already discovered the fun game of pulling roving through the handle holes in the box. Box is now on top shelf.
I sorted through the boxes of other stuff. I should not need shuttles ever again. Which makes me sad, because I'd just bought two boat shuttles, and now I have four more. And a lot of rug/flippy shuttles. A lot. There are some random dowels, and a couple of bits I have no clue about. I think the two pronged wood things are for winding yarn on. If I remember, I'll bring it to costuming.
Rearranged the yarn into two boxes. One is cones big enough that I could use for weaving, the other is random balls o'crap. Some of it is nice, but not enough for me to use. Speak up if you want random box.
Pretty neat.
