Further Feeding

Grok now has a broken fang. I think it is recent - I would have noticed it while feeding her. There are two possibilities - I was to forceful while feeding her or it was already weakened (and possibly causing her enough pain to make her stop eating in the first place). The other development is that she licked the syringe rather than making me put the food into her mouth. When I put the bowl of gushy food in front of her, she ate for a couple of minutes. Finally, she's started throwing up again, and some of those include chunks of food. I'm taking her in for a followup this afternoon to see what the vet thinks.

She's eating. And doesn't seem to care about the broken fang as much as I do. And daily barfing is a return to normal with her. I'm mostly going so the vet can tell me how to know if she's eating enough before she reaches fatty liver again.

Now that I reread my post, I can see how I focused on the worrying parts. Back from vet, and she's doing fine. Mouth looks healed and not inflamed (and doesn't look like it was infected earlier), so that's no longer a worry. He was really happy with the fact that she gained half a pound since her last visit, especially since we hadn't gotten her a feeding tube. I'm guessing between Lawnchair's catwhispering skills and her general good nature, force feeding her went better than for most sick cats. Off to get a postal scale so I can track her weight myself.
