Sycamores and Sore Feet

I start off apologizing for any spelling or grammar mistakes. Or lack of sense. I'm trying to stay up at least until 6 to work through jet lag. I slept about 3 hours on the plane.

I'm currently at the Camden Inn in London. I got into London midmorning, and used my mad orienteering skills to make my way to the hostel. There I met a nice young man from San Dog (Cory) who was also just in and fighting jet lag. He was game for walking and wanted to walk to the Thames, despite the fact it is a 6 km hike from the hostel. Ok. After multiblock hike the wrong way, I took over the directions.

On the way went through Trafalgar Square and Admiralty Arch. Then walked past Parliment and Westminster Abbey. Very intricate carvings on both of them. Wow. After that we attempted to hike to the Tower of London, but quit after the Waterloo bridge. Though we did pass the Millenium pier and its giant ferris wheel. Which is good, because we both almost passed out on the bus back. Though neat bus ride back (double decker).

Impressions.. I miss Japan. Oddly, lots more ads for books and plays than movies. I saw an ad for the latest Terry Prachett book, of all things. WTF? Enjoyed hiking around a lot, especially with a travel companion willing to have no definite plan.

Forgot the camera, so no pics. Sorry. I'll stuff in my purse for the next outing. I did not end up my digital, since I don't have the battery charger for it. You will have to wait until I return. Hah!

Losing sense. I guess five is late enough..

holy shite!

Hi!
So, I've been reading your blog, ever since Anne emailed me the link, but I really just haven't been able to think of anything interesting to say. Having said that, I completely forgot what I was going to say...At any rate...I'm glad you are taking us all on your wonderful tour. I wouldn't mind if you threw in a couple of stories about Japan, though (as I have an interest in Japan especially). I was going to go AD in the Army if they could've garaunteed placement in Japan, but alas, that is one of the hardest places to get to go because so many people want to go there. *sighs desparedly* I'm sure I'll get there someday, hopefully not as a servicemember. Ok, well, I'm sure you don't spend all day on the internet while you are in such great foreign places, so I will end this here and heretofore keep my comments of more reasonable length!

Awe man, all your talk of London makes me miss it so much. I hope you had fun there. Trafalgar square is one of my favorite places in London so I am glad you got to see it. My only question is why aren't you taking the tubes. Super easy to get around and much easier on the feet. Yeah yeah you don't see as much but the people watching is great.

I walk because I love to, I see more. And I while I can't run a block without loosing my breath, my legs are in good shape. After all that walking, I'm not sore at all.
