I know you're not supposed to wash duponi, but for hakama, I prefer the feel of washed duponi (found out by comparing the unwashed, just bought piece with my foolishly washed bit used in my Eigetsu cosplay). So I'm washing it (it being 3.5 yards of gold/bronze silk duponi).

meh, I almost always wash my dupioni. not only for the feel, but sometimes the color turns out so much cooler afterwards.

I'm glad I'm not completely in left field with this.

Pulled it out of the dryer, and I'm much happier with the material. Thin, but somehow less "plasticy".

I've been known to do it too, depending on the fabric and the results I want. It is the one fabric I will test before I run, though, because some works gorgeously, and some not at all.
