Red Beans and Rice

I started making chili this afternoon. I got it as far as the crockpot, and retreated to the bath. lawnchair then turned it into tasty red beans and rice. Nom. And bloody cheap (and now looking into other bean soup recipes because I'm a cheapskate).

I need to be less afraid of the chili powder. I mostly use Penzy's Turkish Spice mix. The extra chili powder made tonight's chili awesome (and finally get through our stock of ancient dried beans to merely old dried beans).
