Thinking While Taking a Break
Aug. 29th, 2008 11:41 amTexas data seems all finished, so I'm taking today as a lazy day. I'm working on a wool SCA overdress. Which is silly, because I didn't go to Lilies, and I'm still not sure if I'm going to Cecil's. But sewing is nice.
Meanwhile, I'm pondering the latest political news (convention did not interest me. I'm patient enough to listen to speeches, even when they're supposedly historical), of McCain's VP choice. I'm not terribly surprised who he picked.
With Clinton's amazing run, women's role in politics has gotten into the limelight. The main stream news and McCain's campaign have been pushing the story of PUMAs. Obama did not pick a woman running mate, so the Repubs decided to make a play for the female vote.
Thanks to fark.com, I've been following Palin's career (they cared because she's "hot", but I was fascinated by a woman giving birth while governor). She's got a baggage, so we'll see if it works. And I'm not sure the Alaska Republican party can afford to lose her.
