Science Fiction Reflections

I'm surprised that I haven't seen anyone discuss the pandemic and the effort for world wide vaccination in relation to Anne McCaffrey's Moreta's Ride and Nerilka's Story. It's apparently the story that shaped my understanding of how it would work. I know we don't have time traveling teleporting dragons, and the science seemed to go to easy for them, but.. it's not like Pern is an obscure series. I guess it is these days, and it's just that I was dragon obsessed at the right age.

Seasons Change

First spring storm of the year. The gentle roll of thunder in the distance got me to pop out to watch the rain come down, and then be glad to stay under the eaves as the hail (pea sized at most) also came down. Five minutes and it's over. The smell is probably my absolute favorite, as is the the evening light around the clouds. Doubt I'll enjoy it as much hiking.
