Due to weather, I've decided not to drive to my sister's place for Thanksgiving. Completely unrelated, Lawnchair and I both decided to take Wednesday off, without telling each other until we got home yesterday. So today we went grocery shopping during the work day, hoping the store would be reasonable. I may have forgotten to eat beforehand. I'm pretty proud of how much we got for the reasonable shopping bill. My plan is to just cook as I'm restless, and eat leftovers the rest of the time.

I've got cranberry pomegranate poppers cooking right now. The prompt for this recipe is to use up the pomegranate I bought for natural dyeing and the puff pastry dough that's been in the freezer for some time. I mostly made it as the recipe, except added some more spices to the cinnamon. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of arils.

I'm at the stage in my life where hobbies are the most update worthy bits of my life. Job is job, and travel is occasional. So fiber (for pictures, check out my ravelry page)

On my needles: Active (as in worked on in the last week) is a hat. My LYS has started doing KALs, and the current one is the ghost ranch hat (I'm calling my project ghost farm because brown and green). After saying that I was going to use some existing yarn, I somehow ended up spinning up some just for this project. I at least used up some random fiber I already owned. For the contrast yarn, I spun 4 ounces/215 yards of dark brown roving from Pinwheel Farms (the one fiber seller that regularly has a booth at the Farmer's Market, I think I got mine in a swap). I also gradient dyed green 1.7 ounce of random white wool roving and 1.7 ounce random tan wool roving, and spun that into 200 yards two ply. I'm just about to start the top shaping on my hat so I should be done today (as I'm home without plans).

Once I finish the hat, I will go back to knitting one of the two sweaters that need arms.

On my wheel: A project I'm calling Burning Together. Goal will be a DK 3-ply. It's all the combos, with both combo drafting (still addicted) and combo spin (because I'm trying to have enough for a sweater). It's not a canonical combo spin, as each of the ply halves are a different selection of colorways as I'm trying to minimize color clumping. I'm one the second (of four) bobbins of the second ply. I might get done by New Years.

In my dye pot: Nothing currently. I finished the last of my natural dye experiments last weekend. This is for my Olds Master Spinner Level One. I've done at least three self directed studies and several studies in classes, so I've done most of the common natural dyes. And I waited until late fall to start. This time I decided to try a couple of the food ones that I'd missed. I don't think black beans were worth it, but thankfully I did more dyes that required, so I can leave out the failures.
