On the first day of unemployment
Jan. 6th, 2018 06:58 pmI was oddly productive. After years of intending to rearrange the library to remove an excess bookshelf, I did it today. And swapped placement of another bookshelf and the futon, thereby clearing window space for my plants. I brought them home from the office, and I'm keeping them in the library so that cats don't eat them. I'm worried that I damaged the peace lily enough to finally kill it. The plan is to move a desk in front of the window so that I have an office for possible work at home days.
After spending weeks intending to staycation for my two weeks between jobs, today I decided I wanted to take a trip to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. I'll take Amtrak down, explore Albuquerque for two days, take the light rail to Santa Fe for two days, then go home. I'll take some knitting to keep myself amused for my awake hours on the train. No plan of things I have to see, but aim myself towards the couple of yarn shops with spinning supplies I've found.
