Silly Tasks
Jun. 21st, 2010 01:34 pmGave up on trying to get the book I was asking for. Despite the fact it was republished as a trade pb last year, B&N and amazon don't carry it online (no wonder I couldn't find it at Hastings or Borders). I found two B&N stores in KC that say they have copies, but.. And then I found that Baen was selling it as an ebook. So I downloaded Stanza onto the iPod, and bought the ebook. This is the first ebook I've paid for. I've tried reading ebooks before (Baen's free library, the couple that I got for signing up for Tor.com and PG), but it didn't work for me. But I'm desperate, and suspect that this might be a comfort read that I reread a number of times.
Experimenting with a new method of dyeing roving - in my crockpot (don't worry, I had bought a spare crockpot for dyeing experiments, so I won't be eating out of this one). Next Friday I'm going to the fiber guild picnic/overnight and will have access to a drum carder. I want to dye a couple of different greens, yellow and browns to mix together. And use up the bright green that I got in spinning classes. So right now I have yellow dye on white roving and the blue tencel/wool (also from spinning class). I'll post pictures when done.
Damn cat is playing with her own furball. All of them are shedding like crazy.
