Weaving Woven
Jan. 14th, 2010 03:21 pmFinished my current project. My first project on the Nilus loom was a sampler much like the one I made in class. When I finished that to the same length as my class sampler, I still had almost a yard of warp left on the loom. What to do? Another sampler. Instead of sampling differing treadle patterns, this sampler was of differing weft threads. I pulled out all the green yarns that I got with the loom (and yarns with the slightest hint of green), and wove alternating bits of tabby and rosepath. I'm not sure I put the yarns in the best order, but it does show off how differing yarns weave. Pictures later, after I download the camera.
Next project is a table topper for Mom out of cotton flake in browns and blue.
