Phone Tag

Silly me. I decided to reschedule my GREs last night. And then I found out what happened to my previous one. Mail.Yahoo.com ate my confirmation. So this morning I called to cancel the one I scheduled. But I can't get any refund because it is less than 7 days from now. But it isn't. It is exactly 7 days from now. More, since it is in the afternoon. And some sympathy would be nice. Especially since it is $115 down the drain. So I spent 20 minutes on hold to cancel, and then spent 25 minutes explaining myself. The guy one the other end was sympathetic, but it is not his decision. So that was the waste of my morning.

It is an excuse to go to the coffee shop and study.

Better Mood

I need to remember that the way to cheer myself up is to do something about what I'm complaining about. Obvious, yes?

I took another practice GRE. I feel confident for the one I shall take tomorrow. It will be my last time, and the one I send to grad schools. I shall how much I have spent. It is worth it.

And I applied to a job. Project technician for Douglas County FSA. Hey, I'll be able to talk intelligently about farming by the end of it. I also plan to apply for three jobs at KU. One is the supervisor to the job at ILL that I didn't get, so I doubt I'll get it. Another is a dispatcher for KU security. The last is field help for KGS, and I hope they focus on my geology degree and not my lifting ability.
