I'm a Big Girl Now
Oct. 6th, 2004 02:54 pmSo I finally applied for another job. I actually sort of applied twice, as it automatically went to personnel and I walked in a copy. I am somewhat proud because I actually revised the application several times, crafting it to the job announcement. Of course, I could have tried to get more information out of my cousin who has held a similar job, but I promise I will do that if I get an interview. I tried to highlight some of my military experience, as it is sort of applicable for once. I'm applying to be a Douglas County Communications Officer (otherwise known as 911 dispatcher).
Now I am doing laundry. Exciting. In fact, I'm being sweet and doing my boyfriend's laundry. Before any of you think I might have sold out to gender stereotypes, my defense is that he has class until 7, and he needs clean clothes before we fly out tomorrow morning. So if I want any sleep tonight.. Also, if I do his, I feel less guilty doing laundry at his apartment complex, which is 50 cents cheaper a load (or $1.25 if I use his money) than the laundromat and I can come up and surf while it is washing.
Very excited to be traveling again. The bug has gotten to me. Had to locate all my travel clothes in preparation for packing. I like my habits, like flying in my leather pants and sandals. And since we are renting a car from the airport, I am not being as careful as I usually am about limiting my luggage. Digicam, GPS unit, laptop, and CD player. Tent and sleeping bags.
