Back to the Big Cities
Jul. 20th, 2004 09:37 pmWell, I made it to Oslo. I spent the day wandering around Trondheim. Anne was right, it is a nice city. I first walked down to the Cathedral, and toured the cemetery. They were charging more than I was willing to pay to go inside, so I just took photos. It was a nice grey green, between the copper and soapstone. Got my sister a souvenir. Do not expect much, I have to carry around everything I buy, but I will be home in three weeks.
Then I wandered along the River Nid. I made my way to the University Museum, peeping through the archeology lab windows. Typical small museum, though some neat Viking jewelry. I amused myself by translating rock names (not hard hematite is hematit in most other languages I have found, the only hard one to figure out was calcite, and that was because I could not remember the proper name). More archeology, partially translated. But neat. Went to a library and used free internet. Also toured their ruins. A library with its own skeletons.
