A Case of the I Don't Want Tos
Dec. 7th, 2007 05:45 pmAll this week. Which means stress and work all weekend. But my semester will be over by Monday, good or bad, and the adviser is out of town for the week.
-Made jewelry this week - three necklaces and a pair of earrings (to match one of the necklaces).

First necklace started off as a way to use one of my latest purchases, a strand of yellow agate. Ended up not using any of it. Necklace is very monochromatic in a color I don't wear.

Next was a strand I bought on a whim while trying out a different online bead store. The strand was short, only six beads, but variable in size. I used three in the necklace, and made a matching pair of earrings (with the smallest two). I saved the one with more red in it for something else. I also used up the six small round beads that came on the strand as spacers. I had to run out to one of the bead stores in town for chain to make it long enough.

Last was a remake of an earlier necklace. I really like how it turned out, with the green seed beads contrasting with the moonstones. The rectangle and oval beads have complex patterns, which didn't photograph at all (color is odd because I played with it trying to bring out the greens).
Also, we rearraged the bedroom to uncover the heating vent. It means that one wall is wall to doorway dressers, but I figure it is worth it. Though Grep is probably sad, as she could fit under the dresser and hog the heat. I also dusted and rearranged the nicknack shelf. The geisha doll and her army of dragons is waging war on goth chick and her minions: the frogs, Rasputin and Queen Emeraldas.
