So I took the train south to Edinburgh this afternoon. I see why the British complain about their train system compared to Europe. Not terrible, but a bit more crowded. Passed by Montrose. Looked like a nice city.
Montrose is a nice city and so is Edinburgh. You should go to Montrose and see the ruined abby where supposedly Robert the Bruce's heart is buried. If you have time you should check out Abbotsford which is where Sir Walter Scott lived. It a pretty cool place and not too far from Montrose. Did you have anytime to explore Edinburgh? If you have time go see Castle Mount and the Scottish National Museum on Princes St. There was also this cool haggis take away shop on the Royal Mile that was really good but I can't remember it's name.
