It is 2007. Please stop assuming that if you are looking for a man, and get a woman on the line that she is Mrs. Man'sLastName (and then mispronounce said last name). We are not married. If we were, perhaps we might still not have the same last name. I am the second generation of women in my family in this same situation, so it isn't a new thing.

Finally, his call affect my life and would like to know who you are from so I can tell him if it is important (or if it is something I can deal with).

My wife kept her maiden name (seems fair, I did too) and after 13 years of marriage I just say that I'm Mr.HerLastName if they ask, because it's the easiest course of action considering my entire relationship with this person will consist of me saying that my wife isn't home at the moment.
