affrecaPresentation 1 done. Not easily. Next up is to write the paper that goes with it. I also got the good news that I don't have plate tectonics next Thursday and got permission to skip EQ&ND. Considering GPR is done this Thursday, I can leave for ACen on Thursday morning, with most of the other people.
Celebrated by finishing Outskirter's Secret. Such a good book to be so unknown. If I was more confident with my writing skills, I'd write an essay comparing it to Kerr's Snare. Many parallels between those two. Colonies that have forgotten space, with tech remnants labeled as magic. And then there is the travel with nomads, and finding them more complex than assumed. Finally, the role of betrayal. In OS, the betrayer is killed, in Snare he is forgiven by his nomad lover (theirs is a very stereotypical Kerr relationship).
