affrecaMuch nazel gazing this last week. Very self indulgent, and angsty navel gazing. Realized yesterday that if I didn't have someone here that I wanted to live with I'd be making plans to teach English abroad right now.
1.) How old do you wish you were?: I don't know. 26 is pretty good, I just feel like I should have learned some lessons by now.
2) Where were you when 9/11 happened?: At OCS, with less than two weeks left before commissioning. We had made it to the Canidate Officer stage, where we no longer had classes but had to be in charge of the lower classes of Officer Canidates and do all that pre commissioning running around. Those of us going onto ships had a day of playing on YTs planned. We heard about it somewhat before we went to the YT, but then they stopped us. No one knew what the response would be. Should we go back to our buildings, or what? So we sat and watched the second plane hit and the towers fall on a small 4 inch black and white screen. Two of my classmates were from New York. One had been one of the more girly men in the class (a nuke), but he just sat and stared. The other was huge, had been a Marine. Tears just streamed down his face. For a couple of weeks it was a lesson of what I'd gotten myself into. About as patriotic as I've ever felt. That changed.
3) What do you do when vending machines steal your money?: Push buttons, fill out the damn yellow forms.
4) Do you consider yourself kind?: Depends. Sometimes I'm to forgiving. As a TA I can be a cold heartless bitch though.
5) If you had to get a tattoo, where would it be?: Another circle of knotwork around my current tattoo, with a ends free. Eventurally use the ends to do a knotwork tree up my back. I just have other stuff I'd rather spend my money on right now.
6) If you could be fluent in any other language, what would it be?: Any. Spanish would be nice, or something obscure (Mongol?)
7) Do you know your neighbors?: No. Except for some incredibly rude children in the trailer park next door. They love to bug Tom when he's doing lawnwork.
8) What do you consider a vacation?: Travel. Anywhere.
9) Do you follow your horoscope?: Nope.
10) Would you move for the person you loved?: Have done so.
11) Are you touchy feely?: I can be. I miss it.
12) Do you believe that opposites attract?: Sometimes. I don't.
13) Dream job?: Librarian, travel bum
14) Favorite channel(s)?: KANU, KCUR, the DVD channel
15) Favorite place to go on weekends? Travel. I don't though.
16) Showers or Baths?: Baths. Showers if I need a quick temperature change though.
17) Do you paint your nails?: Rarely. I don't like redoing them.
18) Do you trust people easily?: I can. Less so now.
19) What are your phobias? Heights, responsiblity, finding myself back in the Navy
20) Do you want kids?: I have cats.
21) Do you keep a handwritten journal?: Sometimes when I travel. Not much though.
22) Where would you rather be right now?: On a train, going somewhere cool.
23) Who makes you feel warm and fuzzy?: flannel sheets, a good book
24) Heavy or light sleep?: Both, often in the same night.
25) Are you paranoid?: Not enough. Except when it comes to the government.
26) Are you impatient?: Not if I have a book to read.

29) Have you been burned by love?: Maybe. I most cases my own damn fault.

31) What's your main ringtone on your mobile? a phone ringing. Really. I refuse to buy a ring tone, and all the other ringtones on this phone annoy the hell out of me.
32) What were you doing at midnight last night?: Reading. C&C loaned me the last Dresden book, and I devoured it.
33) Who was your last text message from?: Megan. Another grounded JG I hung out with the last few months I was in Japan. I skipped her wedding, and have no clue what her married name is, or how to find her ever again.
34) Who's bed did you sleep in last night?: Mine. I let Tom sleep there to.
35) What color shirt are you wearing?: I'm not wearing a shirt. I'm still in my light blue kimono.
36) Who deleted 36?: I don't know. I dislike 28 a lot, so I deleted it.
37) Name three things you have on you at all times? My ring.
38.) What color are your bed sheets?: Lavender. I have a purple problem, ok?
39) How much cash do you have on you right now?: $60 or so. Unless you count the emergency travel stash, which is 5 Euros, 60 pounds, 40 Canadian, a bunch of SK wan, and $300.
40) What is your favorite part of the chicken?: legs.
41) What's your favorite town/city?: Lawrence, Portland, anyplace I haven't been yet.
42) I can't wait till: I get off my butt and start working this summer
43) Who got you to join Myspace? Um, nobody. I don't have a myspace and I'm proud of it.
44) What did you have for dinner last night?: Mushroom thingy, really good homemade bread, local sweet corn and a tasty wine. I didn't like the Mango Mousse, so I had mulberries and gooseberries for dessert.
45) How tall are you barefoot?: 4'10.5" (or so, depending on who is doing the measuring)
46) Have you ever smoked heroin?: No. Or really, much of anything.
47) Do you own a gun?: I own one bullet though.
