Homeward Bound

And not for happy reasons. My Grandpa Ranney is in the hospital, so I'm headed northward to be with my family. I'm not in the mood to drive 7 hours by myself, so I'm taking the bus (Jefferson Lines). I figure I should be able to sleep on the overnight, and less other people. It's going to be the first time on the bus in the States for me. Thankfully, the semester is done, so I have no guilt about stuff left undone. I have some grading to finish...

The busses are not too bad - I took the bus home for Christmas one year and it was crowded and smelly and a long ride - but that was near Christmas. I bet this time of year will be better. I hope it was alright and that you are now safely with your family. I wish I could send you peace of mind about your Grandpa...Nonetheless, I'm thinking of you!

Thank you. He passed away on Friday, so he didn't suffer for long. I'm back home, and starting on post semester decompression.

Bus wasn't bad at all. The bus station in KC had me a little weirded out at first, but it was fine after it cleared out a bit. I like the ability to just sleep on the way up.
