So
lawnchair has this bike buying problem (sometimes scavenging). Mostly I tease him about it, because it makes my book collection seem less silly. And lately it has involved bikes my size. So he found a Bridgestone XO-5 for $20 at a garage sale last weekend when I was gone. So I decided to take it out today as a celebration of the end of my confinement. And I like. Maybe because it is a lot more like my main bike (hearafter referred to as the Marin), but I'm willing to tweak it more. Swapped out seats for the comfortable one we got on a bike at Goodwill (still leaving the comfiest seat for Mom's new bike) and put on the cleat pedals. I'm finally convinced they're a good idea for longer rides, since they use all the muscles in my legs, not just the pushers. Ordered fenders for it, and going to switch out the handlebars, possibly for one of the roadstyle drop bars currently on one of the found bikes. Which means I can swap out the brake bars to what I consider sensible with the front brakes under my dominant right hand, and a size that fits my tiny hands better. And add the racks that I scavanged off a bike left for the trash (good racks, both front and back). Sweet. I'm feeling very bike nerdy. Oh, and we went a bit farther today, 24 miles.
Well, a shower and then up to Lindley.
