affrecaAnother long week, for no good reason. I'm finally starting to get pressure for a thesis topic, and I have no ideas. Previous idea is somewhat nixed. Hmm...
In other news, the boyfriend is out of town, so I ended up tagging along with Jorge. Today is Tom's (not the boyfriend, Jorge's friend who I usually call RD to keep it straight in my head) birthday, and he's twenty. And there was the usual Latin dance night at Adas Abba, our local Ethiopian restuarant. I have no idea what Latin Dance and Ethiopian food have in common.. but... I got saw several people I knew. I got Tonia's new number, and an invite to her housewarming party in about a month. Saw Blair, my ex-roomate's ex-boyfriend. Lawrence is small. I left when I had enough watching of butt wiggling. I did dance some. A couple of times with Jorge, a couple of times with girls of the group, and twice with strange guys who ditched me when they realized I can't dance. Practice might help, but not sure if I'm going to do enough to get any better.
Observations.. Jorge's friend Mel looks like my aunt Mary (Pennington) with a nose ring. Very disconcerting sight of her dancing with random men. Or with a nose ring. But very cool chick.
Also, on my walk home, I noticed that cars seemed to go faster at 2.
