Return to Munich
Well, this is the first time I've returned to a city that I've been in before in Europe. I did not get lost at all. Ok, I didn't get lost in Interlaken either, but that was because the hostel had a shuttle running from the train station to the hostel. Balmer's seems to make plenty of money off of young Americans wanting extreme sports. I overheard 350 beds. They had tents up as overflow.
And sadly, they were mostly not my crew. I really liked the people running the place (the guy at the front desk waived the usual 3 Euro fee for swapping books and got me a free postcard because he wanted my sci-fi book). But most of the customers were.. frat boys and sorority girls. I can't believe how much make-up these women had. And still all cookie cutter. But the view was worth it.
I ended up going paragliding, because it was half the price as skydiving, and there was one last evening group going up. Which is good, because the weather turned rainy today. So I skipped the hike and headed out on the train in the morning. Caught it exactly, to. Staying at a nice average place in Munich. Feels like an old hotel. I keep getting distracted looking for geopedals in the limestone stairs. And they're conducting a Lord of the Rings Marathon. The extended versions. I got distracted doing my laundry, so I haven't paid attention. I figure someday I lock all the doors and make Tom sit through them with me. Or any one else who is interested. Tom's just the one I can force. Oh, and my room has a bathtub. Yeah!
Lava lamps are addicting. A few days ago lost 15 minutes staring at one. Now another one keeps grabbing my attention. Like a TV.
Finally did laundry. At least my pants hadn't started walking on their own yet. But I stuffed the machine full, and everything is clean. Even currently wearing my swimsuit, so I could wash all my shirts. Bought one in Interlaken, because they had a good deal (and all my long sleeved ones were way to dirty).
Well, off to sleep. Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend, and stayed safe.
