Biking and Nice Weather
So today started off beautiful. Last week I decided to go to the bike shop and see why my back hurts when I bike for more than 4 miles. Tom adjusted my handbars a bit, but figured should get a second opinion. So after swinging by the bank and breaking their change counting machine (deposited $13.58 of change, still have some that wasn't going through) and catching a quick bagel, we made it to CycleWorks. Had a real cute biker chick with grease on her hands adjust my seat. Seemed to help a bit. I also talked myself into a nicer helmet (though not the $100, I'm not insane yet). I am a big believer in bicycle helmets. They save lives (most of the time, nothing is foolproof).
So we continued on, since the weather was so nice, and to try out the adjustments. Worked. My back still twinged a bit, but not as bad as previous trips. Of course now my thighs and arms hurt. Thighs because I biked 22 miles while out of shape (having a truck means I walk less than I used to in the cold), and arms because I have fair skin and forgot sunblock. But proud of self. I shall be in good shape by summer time.
Seriously considering KU again. Got a great email from my prospective adviser. I need to sit down with him and discuss possible projects. I wouldn't be extremely poor, so could justify traveling this summer. Choices.
