Me and Early Mornings
Feb. 1st, 2005 04:34 amFinished the tweaking of my application to KU this morning (due today, but electronically). I am done, or as much as I can do. I had to fax a copy of my GRE scores to UA last night, since they hadn't gotten them yet. Thankfully I got sent a new copy when I ordered them sent to UA, so I didn't have to tear apart the apartment looking for my old copy (which I've been searching for months). And I have to hope that KU and UI are flexible about slightly late recommendation letters, since Dr. Gosse just returned from the Andes and said that he'd send my letters yesterday. I was slightly panicy when I got that email yesterday morning, but I am relaxed about it now (as it is early in the morning, and I can't do anything about it).
The other big news is my poor kitten, Lou. She's miserable, and I did it to her. Tom took her to the vet yesterday to be spayed. Last night it was just funny watching her wobble around. And Barry trying to pick a fight and realizing he wasn't getting far with that. Now she's just in pain. I finally figured it out and put a towel down next to the register. She apparently can't jump up to any of her usually perches. And it hurts whenever I try to pick her up. Poor little thing.
Not much else. Still working. I like my class. Alaina had to leave for the afternoon yesterday, and when she came by with her medical letter, she brought her infant daughter. So cute. No work got done as we stared at her little head, sleeping cutely. And I got my first paycheck this weekend. Almost enough to cover my bills and that was just one short week. I finally might not be bleeding money, and can start saving this for grad school (or another trip this summer).
