Hope I Sleep This Week
Nov. 2nd, 2020 08:49 pmIn an attempt to head off election stress, I'm working the local polling station tomorrow. I think I am. I haven't really heard anything since my training, even though we were told that our supervising judge would check in with us. Guess I'll walk down early tomorrow morning and see if they need me. Blah. - Never mind, was called by my supervising judge, so I am expected. I was warned to pack something to amuse myelf (book and knitting in my case) because a high percentage of our precinct has already voted. I fear this means I will have enough time to fret.
Knitting - that's distracting, right? I've got one thumb left on my fingerless gloves, and a bit more on my orange/blue sweater. So I started a shawl out of the cushy yarn I spun earlier this summer. Merino, cormo, alpaca, pearl, rose, silk and angora; very soft. Already started getting a halo after I frogged one section because my stitch number was off. And the pattern is one I've already knit once, so shouldn't require much thought, even though it's brioche. (Edit - finished thumb on fingerless gloves. While they're shorter than the pattern, I won this round of yarn chicken - ~1 foot of yarn left, which is good because they're my first knitting project of all spindle spun yarn).
And then I go on an overnight trip for some contractor oversight. They should have worked out their issues by the time I get there, so hopefully harmless.
