Seasonal Cooking
Oct. 25th, 2020 01:16 pmTime for the most seasonally dependent recipe I cook, Green Tomato Crumble. I'm not sure what cooking tradition Mom got this from, but it is the end of harvest season for me. The trick is to wait and pick all the tomatoes that won't get ripe because of the first frost, and cook them up into dessert. Throw in the typical pie spices (any time I cook a recipe that says cinnamon, I end up using cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and nutmeg), and the house smells great.
