Benefits of working from home

affrecainclude being able to deal with leaks quickly. In other news, I'm going to be using my stimulus money for a new roof. (Actually, stimulus went to paying off dental bills. This is coming from the house fund because I was expecting to replace the roof soon)
At the start of my lunch break I headed towards the stairs to make sure that we weren't having a repeat of last summer's flood in the pantry room. Except the floor in front of the stairs was wet. When trying to figure out why, a felt a drop of water on my head. Water was dripping off the hanging light. So I told Lawnchair, and started clearing out the closet that leads to the attic over the main floor. Thankfully, it seems like it was a small leak, just above the light fixture, and water was dripping down the hole in the ceiling for the electric. I have one tub under the leak in the roof and another under the leak in the ceiling, and the dehumidifier going. The light bulb has been removed an the quick connect for the light disconnected (in case I forget and flip the switch). We've been in the house for eleven years, and the roof was several years old when we bought the place, so I'm fine with using this as the justification to replace the roof.
