I was sick and stuck behind in the camper the year the family was in that area, but I still remember the talk about 'the mountain where the top came off' decades later...
It's a pity you won't be there before they close for the year. ;_; The Roadtrippers website does say that group tours can be scheduled year-round... maybe if you called ahead?
