The Smugness of Food
May. 5th, 2012 10:22 amI'm actually eating a salad. I'm not a big salad eater, but I've figured out at least one combo that I find tasty. Spinach (from my garden), strawberries (from the garden), hazelnuts (which were cheaper than walnuts last time I had a brownie craving) and goat cheese (from the Farmer's Market). I should pack more salads for eating at work.
Plan is to do the second round of gardening - starters. We planted the stuff we start from seed (radishes, carrots, spinach, lettuce and peas) early, figuring that it wouldn't cost to much to replace them if a freeze came along, but weren't in a hurry for the stuff we buy as seedlings (tomatoes, peppers, whatever else caught attention this year). I doubt the garden will be very intensive this year again, as Lawnchair went back to full time work this week.
And the heat (humidity) has hit. Lawnchair has promised to install the window AC today, and my desire to spend time outside has decreased.
