So what's your favorite easily packable con foods?

One of the few foods I always make sure to pack is instant oatmeal for breakfast. Of course, if you hate oatmeal or can't get to the coffee pot before your roomies make coffee it won't do you much good.

I don't tend to do a lot of in-room cooking, so it's jerky and fruit snacks for me.

Fruit leather, agree with the instant oatmeal & jerky, bulk nuts (like by the pound from the Merc), granola bars/Luna/Clif bars, single-serve packs of stuff like Goldfish crackers & pretzels, yogurt pretzels.

Good idea. Breakfast always helps, and one of my roommates is bringing a hot water pot (so no coffee flavored oatmeal).

If I have a fridge available, I make a batch of salmon croquettes and live off that all weekend. (You know--can of canned fish of your choice, breadcrumbs or reasonable facsimile, seasonings, maybe some chopped vegetables; shape into patties and fry. Or if I'm being virtuous, I shape it into a loaf and bake.)

Non perishable (at least 'til opened) foods: nuts, crackers, those little soy milk containers, single-serving apple sauce, canned oysters, tuna, tea bags, dehydrated cocoa, add water-and-microwave noodle bowls.

Shelf-stable pudding! And everything else mentioned already.

But my new favorite con is at a hotel with microwaves in every room and vending machines in the halls that sell FROZEN DINNERS. No, really, vending machines full of different frozen dinners! Hungry Mans and diet food and everything in between.

Granola. Proper granola for the morning (i.e. no fruit, nuts, chocolate, or anything like that -- just granola) and gooey granola with chocolate for snacks.

Ericas are great con foods. Pack them in your car, and gnaw off a limb when you get hungry. Take me with youuuuuu!

Sadly, I'm flying, and Ericas don't fit in carry-on luggage well. Plus, I like my human cooked, and that's difficult in a hotel room.

I like to bring the Marie Callendar's or Healthy Choice dinner in a plastic dish thingies. THey're not ramen and pretty tasty to boot.
